Quiet site (since you're the only ones) that's clean and cared for (leave no trace!) Fairly level tent spots, shade through the day, 3 Bear boxes 5 tables. Road in has a few ruts. 2wd is ok, moderate clearance (compact SUV or better) is good.

Private camping site, nice and quiet the only thing is there's no water.

It is a really neat site and The bathroom is A+, FANTASTIC! You are very away from others so you don't have to be too quite. You do need a high clearance vehicle to get to it. 4x4 is a plus. The Pine Knot trail goes right by, so there is quite a bit of foot traffic. I totally understand, but it was confusing about the fire pit. There was a pit (that had been semi recently used) but signs saying "no fires". So is that, no fires outside of pit, or no fires at all? The reservation had "No Fires" so we assumed it was no fires. The pit should have tape / something on it as it was cold and people wanted to use it.

magical campground all by itself in the forest! would love to go back anytime.
- our group was 20 people but the space could easily accommodate the maximum amount of 40.
- even the pit toilet was beautiful, open to the sky.
- you are allowed to have fires if you get an official campfire permit.
- the road up is a bit treacherous, but we made it in our Honda Fit and Prius, didn't necessarily need a 4x4 though it would have been much appreciated.
- definitely bring all of your food and water for the night/weekend, you won't want to leave once you arrive.

Check SoCal weather forecasts and bring something warm if nighttime in the mountains hit 60 or below. A propane fireplace is always enjoying and lookup to enjoy the stars. Hiking trail is right off the trail so expect high traffic
