This site is phenomenal, I almost don't want to let you in on this gem, but it really is a gem. I have lead a group camping trip for the last 6 years at a variety of SoCal sites. The goal of the trip is to be able to have dogs off leash and kids be able to run around safely. Requirements I also seek out are a fire ring and at least 1 vault toilet. This site was phenomenal. The location is super close to town and two other camping areas, but still feels very private. It is right near the bottom of the ski slopes. I had cell service with AT&TIt says up to 40 people and 8 cars, but it could definately fit more than 8 cars if needed, so I wouldn't stress about the parking limitation. While the area is large, a big portion of the cleared areas is sloped, so not all of it is ideal for tent camping. There is a fire ring and a large charcoal grill as well as two indoor vault toilets. Additionally there are 5 large picnic tables (3 around the fire and two set apart) and 3 bear boxes (Maybe 4 can't quite remember, but at least 3). We had a wonderful time with a group of 25 people including a few children plus 10 dogs. Be aware: there are coyotes in the area, we saw at least 2 at the site in the evening. Happy camping!

Always a great spot. Quiet but yet close enough if your forgot something at the grocery store. Bathrooms were clean, site was clean. Camp host Seann was very nice and helpful.

Loved everything about this camp. The only thing is it didn’t have anywhere to throw away the trash. We end up having to take our trash bags to the trash cans in Pineknot campground.

we needed a campsite for a family of 14 folks and were able to choose this campsite during August. Nice spacious space, clean 2 restrooms, water faucet that we used to connect our hose to wash our pots, utensils near our picnic benches. safe, quiet and lots of evergreen trees. Near another campsite with individual camping sites, but not too close. The bbq grill was good enough and clean for some grilling actions, salmon, chicken, hamburgers and hotdogs. The campsite has 3 bear protective metal food containers enough to fit our food, coolers. we truly enjoyed our family two-day stay.
