Was my first time here so i wasn't surprised when issues come up like shower head was missing parts and spraying all over threw the shut off,and the bathroomdoor was draging on the floor and was not easy to get in if your mobility is challenging, roof had leaked in areas and there was rotten spots but was informed by ranger they are working on it in July. Left windows open dew to gas smell .gas stove was noisy after it turned off popping and cracking as cooling down. Waked up each time it turned off.beds are worn out ,futon hard as a rock ,need to bring your own cot or air beds if you want to sleep good. Stairsoutside were tricky for me but went down backwards helped the lawn was lumpy and hard to walk on with cane .not equipped for handicap ,we went to see the world's largest suger pine tree was paved most of the way from tiller. water falls down the main road anothe 15 miles before turning on Jackson creek 29 was nice and was handicap ready ,crater lake was open for a mile only snow was still high .over the car. Lots of paved forest service roads off hwy 62 ,bring map ,no service out of Prospect and 1 spot on the road 34 to cabin , it's a drive to shop so try threw butefalls then to hwy 62 to eagle point has stores Walmart & rays ,down the hwy more to Medford fredmeyer and others

Wonderful experience. It is unfortunate that the Forest Service can't find the manpower to maintain upkeep. Pretty sure most of the work is done by tenants like ourselves.

We stayed the 11-12 July 2021. I will start with the bad: The screen door is hard to close because it is bent, the futon chair is broken, the actual glass window is missing in the living room (just has a screen), the fire alarms are missing, the shower is dripping and the mattress in the bedroom looks like it has been chewed by an animal. Now for the good-the area is absolutely beautiful and about an hour from Crater Lake National Park. It is very quiet and if you are a bird-watcher, you will be pleased. There was a woodpecker at 3:45 A.M. doing his tapping LOL...this will be an amazing cabin to rent if they decide to put some work into it...at this time I do not think it is worth the $85 a night.

Beautiful, remote, quiet, and simple. Enjoyed fishing and hiking near. There was a broken window however that only had a trash bag tacked up/vaguely taped around it when I showed up that, according to the log book, had been broken since the previous fall. Given that it was spring time and still rainy/chilly, this left me freezing inside when the sun wasn’t out. I put more plastic on it and drove into town to buy duck tape the first morning, as well as left a message for the ranger regarding maybe putting up some plywood over the hole. A few days later, someone showed up to check in and said the window was “on order”, which is what the log book had said was also the story 6 months prior.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay though. Would recommend for anyone interested in enjoying Oregon’s beauty without the cell service or electric interference that seems almost impossible to avoid these days!

Cozy little cabin in the middle of the forest. Plenty of space to park cars and pitch tents if needed.. 6 to 7 can sleep inside the cabin. Cabin was clean. Perfect getaway spot

No mobile service in the area. Download any instructions and maps beforehand.
