One of my favorite places. RMNP. MY 4th trip, from Indiana. One of the best hiking opportunities in the country. Long, short, easy, difficult, higher altitudes, etc its all here. Tip, get acclimated to the altitude before you try any long hikes to the higher altitudes

Beautiful vista, solar showers, clean facilities, what more could you ask for?

Very happy with our 2 nights camping here. Our site wasnt shaded, but there's a decent amount of tree regrowth between sites D141 and D139 that makes them feel more separated. The lack of large trees also provided great mountain views and stargazing (the utility poles detract a bit but arent that bad). D143 is extremely close - D145 feels close as it is, so D143 feels pretty forced in - but we only had neighbors there briefly one night during the weekend. The shared bear box is slightly awkward as it felt like it was completely on our site and may deter others from using it. Theres a shared parking area for D141 and D143, it fits about 3 cars. The tent pads on these sites are quite small.Amenities were great, the restrooms were close/plentiful and clean with running water, soap and hand dryers. Theres a small sink for final dish rinsing outside of the restroom. There was also a set of solar shower stalls right by our campsite, my husband used one to change clothes which was convenient. There was a water spigot right across the road.We checked in at the front when first driving in and were provided parking passes that are turned in at the end. Theres a kiosk for wood, ice, etc. but it has very limited hours (5:30 pm-8 pm when we visited). Id read reviews about the mean lady working it and warned my husband - he said she was certainly interesting. Id recommend making sure you have exact change or at least lots of small bills for purchases. We only had a $20 for two wood bundles and that seems like it could be a problem, but she still gave us change. Wood was $7.50 a bundle when we were there. For access to the rest of Bear Lake Road, we took the shuttle from the campsite (near the ranger station/entrance) over to the Park & Ride. At the end of the day, we walked back to camp from the Park & Ride which was a surprisingly quick hike. Overall, a great weekend trip.

Gorgeous campground. Directly across the street from Bear Lake/Glacier Gorge shuttle. Bring bills smaller than $20 in order to purchase firewood/ice.

We had a great stay at this campground. The facilities were very clean and the location was excellent for us. There is a big difference between sites however. Some are very pleasant and offer some privacy and shade whereas others are out in the open and really close to your neighbors. So, if that’s important to you, you might want to check the map closely before selecting your site. But regardless, it’s a great place to stay.

Great campground, beautiful views, nice layout. Some of the sites are VERY close together.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
