Great spot, right next to bathrooms and sink - but since there's a lot of bathrooms spread out there wasn't an overwhelming amount of foot traffic (ie. low foot traffic - doesn't feel like everyone is constantly walking by to the bathrooms/sinks). Trees have gotten a bit larger than in the pics which is nice. No bear bin in this site. Kept food in car covered and it was fine. Beautiful of the mountains from this location! Walk to shuttle is only about 15min. There is only 1 car parking spot - which is shared with the campsite next to it (so 2 spots total, one for each).

We stayed in the tent loop and the Mountain Views were incredible. Camping with that beautiful range as the setting was sublime. 10 out of 10

We loved the campground, very close to Bear Lake! Showers would have been nice!

Camping at Glacier Basin Campground is surreal! You are surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. The ranger that checked us in was very helpful in giving us directions and answering any questions we had. (Side note: if you are camping inside RMNP, your reservation for the campground serves as your “timed reservation” to get into the park!) Each tent site has a tent pad, fire ring, and picnic table. There is usually a bear locker near or at your campsite as well. The bathrooms are very clean, as is the entire camping area. The national park does have a ranger that walks around to collect litter, which also provides you with a chance to have a nice conversation with them. Overall, this campsite is spectacular, a scenery dream come true to say the least!

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the person selling firewood. She was not a ranger, I think she was someone that was allowed to come and sell firewood, kindling, and things of that nature. She was the rudest person my husband and I had ever met. Let me explain: we wanted to buy 2 bundles of firewood (~$5.50 ea) and a bag of kindling (~$2 ea) which made our total around $12. We pulled out our cash, we had a $20 bill and $4 in singles. We were paying with the $20 bill and this woman started yelling at us about paying with a $20 because then she uses all of her change. We immediately apologized and offered to buy another bundle of wood, which we ended up doing, to help alleviate the change problem. My husband even said we don’t need the change. She got even more hostile, taking our $20 bill and said something along the lines of “you know what I do with $20 bills?….” As she crumpled our money in our face and stuck it in her back pocket saying “I basically throw them away because I can’t give them to anyone!!!!!” She said a few more things but she was straight up yelling at us. It definitely left us both shocked and shaking our heads.
