Thin pines shade this spot a little. Tricky to pull into, found it easiest to back in due to the sharp curve. You're really in the middle of things here and close to other sites - and bathrooms, for better or worse! The hand dryers in the bathroom are the "vortex" kind and are super loud when used at night. We used a white noise machine to ensure we got some sleep. No significant wildlife during our visit, just a few chipmunks/ground squirrels. The tent pad was well-sloped, you definitely need to bring a mallet to hammer in your stakes since some of the ground was too compacted/rocky.

Great campground: well-maintained, close to the shuttle, and the rangers are extremely helpful. Though there isn't a shower, there is a shower station where you can use a solar shower bag. Otherwise, there is a public shower place in Estes Park. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

The campsite I had was very clean, although you don't get much privacy because it's so close to other sites. However, everyone is usually very friendly and the location is beautiful with mountains around you.

We had a great time here. The facilities were clean and easy to get too. It was quiet at night and other campers were friendly. It was great to have an included timed-pass with the camping reservation and it was close to great hiking trails. There was no cell coverage but that was one of the best features.

There is a great 1 mile hike that starts in the group camping area and leads to a great view of some mountains over a lake. Great spot for some sunrise pictures. We also did a hike from Bear lake to fern lake using the shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at either end. This was a great 9 mile hike with a wife variety of terrain and scenery.

Great location in RMNP. Large campsite with plenty of room.

Horrible camping experience. People jammed next to each other as far as you can see. Would have had more privacy camping in a highway median. My family hated this campground. The kids couldn't run and play because we were crammed like sardines by the overcrowding Don't come here if you want anything resembling a true outdoor experience. Do bring noise canceling headphones to drown out RV generator s and people watching TV outside.
