Glacier Basin Campground is such a unique and special place. Many sites are close together, so you are within hearing of neighboring campers, but I've rarely been bothered by it. The staff are helpful and present, and the sites are well-maintained. It's just stunning, the views you get! Waking up to the gorgeous alpenglow on the mountains with the sunrise is magical! And there are several trails that leave from the CG, as well as a park-n-ride stop to go to other trails and destinations along the Bear Lake Corridor. I love Glacier Basin!

I was at site 72 and was a little worried because others had shared this site (and most on the C loop) didn't have shade and it was described as somewhat rustic. While there were a number of sites on C that did not have tall shade trees (they were cut down a few years back due to an infestation), my site was perfect. Surrounded by trees, nice big picnic table and a firepit with a well-maintained and level platform for tents. I was car camping so I didn't use this feature but could tell from those around me that this made set up much easier. There is a stand near the front where a local woman comes from 5-8p to sell ice and firewood. The restrooms were clean and well stocked and each of the restroom buildings had an outdoor sink with running water for dishes as well as bearproof recycling and garbage canisters and there was a shared bear box for food every 2-3 campsites. This was a hiking stop during a cross country road trip, so I was only able to stay one night. I would have loved to stay longer.

I liked everything very much except for the lack of solar showers. There were rinsing stations but for some arbitrary reason they were closed. They were open last year and we were allowed to use them.

The campsites are more spaced out than Moraine Park. Easy access to shuttle or you can hike from the campground. Ice cream, ice and firewood 430-8pm. Kids love it!

A great place to camp. The campground has lost a lot of trees so some sites are in the open.
