I would highly recommend a stay at Glacier Basin Campground. The site has excellent views, and is across the street from the park and ride. From the parking lot you can catch a shuttle to 3 different trailheads, which will give you access to a dozen or so hikes. Staying at this campgrounds will make your stay so much simpler; as being on Bear Lake road eliminates the need for timed entry pass, the shuttle greatly reduces the need to drive for the first day or two, and the campground is relatively close to Estes Park should you need supplies.

This tent site is fantastic. It has a lovely view of the mountains and is a short jaunt to the bathroom (good for our small kids). It's a pretty private site (we never had neighbors on one side - maybe that site isn't being used this year). There isn't shade, but we enjoyed all the sunshine and open sky. Be cautious of the many tree stumps - I tripped many times when not paying attention! The campground as a whole is really nice. People were quiet and respectful. I never felt unsafe or frustrated. The bathrooms are nice and well maintained. The only downside was they didn't seem to be cleaned while we were there (Sat-Wed) based on the progressively dirtier sinks. But they were still nice compared to other campground bathrooms we've experienced. Overall, a great place to camp and we'd return!

If you can get a site at this campground, GRAB IT!!! This CG will put you minutes away from some of the best hiking in RMNP. Aside from that the amenities are top-notch for a place this far away from 'the real world'. Things we liked: clean bathrooms with running water/flush toiletsprivate shower area with place to hang your shower bag (no running water, bring your own bag)bear box provided for food storagedecent size camp site ( a little snug, but sufficient, we were tent/car camping)on-site ice and firewood availableThings we didn't like:it rained both nights (thanks a lot, mother nature!)Great overall value in the most sought after part of the park!

The bathroom in Glacier Basin Loop D seemed to be newly remodeled. It was so nice & clean! No showers, but flush toilets were a welcome amenity. The campground was very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful mountain views.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
