Site A017 was one of the best sites in the campground. It is on the outside of A loop and has privacy from the pine trees (they're now about 7 or 8 feet tall in Fall 2024). There is a trail on the hill behind the site, but it does not see a lot of traffic. Site had a level tent pad and a bear box.Glacier Basin campground is a great campground. The bathrooms were updated and always clean. There is an outdoor dish rinse on the side of the comfort station and there are two Solar shower stalls in Loop D. We saw wildlife each day, both elk and mule deer. The campground is close to Sprague Lake and Bear Lake and not needing a timed entry was very convenient.

The campsite was great! Short walk to the bathroom and water tap and has some trees and a trail right behind it. The campground itself is awesome. There's a beautiful field providing an open outlook onto the mountains and stary sky at night. Plenty of trails nearby and the shuttle pick-up for Bear Lake Road is right across from the campground on the main road.

I will never understand how RMNP has 265,000 acres but they put the campsites so close you can hear your neighbor fart.
It’s terrible, the idea is to enjoy the nature but you can’t because the kids are running around screaming all day long and the parents are just getting drunk.
It’s really disappointing, we tried the backcountry camping however all the trials pass right through camp so again you are trying to enjoy the nature and tons of people walking right through your camp talking to you. I came out here not to talk to people!
Can’t see any animals because people are loud and the kids are even louder. If it rains even a tiny drop everyone gets in their cars at the campsites and sits in there with the engine running again ruining the nature.
The campers trash everything, they don’t recycle and just very inconsiderate of their surroundings. It’s a national park and should be preserved but leave it to people to ruin everything.
