Camped over the 4th of July weekend and loved it. Very close to bear lake trailhead literally right across the street from park and ride shuttle also! Easily got to trail ridge rd. The mountain views from all the spots are amazing. Stayed in c loop, spots are close together but some have bushes for separation (no large trees because of beetle kill so bring shade if you want) also has a picnic table and fire ring with grate. Bathrooms are close with running water and utilities not a hole in the ground! honestly super nice and clean! Can get noisy with other campers but everyone was very respectful and I didn’t get woken up. Ice and firewood was for sale ranger was super nice would absolutely camp again, reserve in advance or be online right at release time, I got lucky getting one of the very last spots this weekend!

So RMNP is amazing. The views, the trails. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The campground was clean. The sites were a bit too close together and there's not much privacy between sites. My one advice is to see how close or far you are from the bathrooms. We were right next to the bathrooms and we could hear the air hand drier being used constantly. It could be a problem if you go to sleep early since of course people use the bathroom and wash their hands at all hours. But we were gone most of the day enjoying all beauty around us, so it wasn't that big of a hassle.

Many hiking trails that start at the campground, and a quick trip to Bear Lake park and ride shuttle to many other hiking trails - check out Alberta Falls.

Beautiful location. The campground is right across the street from the main shuttle pickup which was very convenient for us, and the bathrooms were clean and close to the camp site.
