The large meadow at this campground is fantastic and photo-worthy at both dawn and dusk. This specific campsite is in a decent location at the top of the loop and is moderately roomy. Note that the parking is at an odd angle, making it difficult if you choose to back into the space. Adjoining campsites are pretty close, so neighbor noise and drifting campfire smoke can be problematic. Also, the shared bear box is right next to the picnic table and tent platform, so folks may be stopping by on occasion. Overall, a nice spot.

Excellent campsite with many trees for shading. Only about a one mile hike to Sprague Lake, which I would definitely recommend making. Near the shuttle pick-up to Bear Lake Road, which allowed easy access to the lake hikes in the higher elevations. The oversized tent area was large enough to accommodate our 10X14 sf tent. Bear proof storage was plentiful and accessible.

park was awesome - a little crowded as was to be expected, but all the rangers. shuttle bus drivers, and volunteers always had a great attitude and did their best to male sure everyone had a great time.

Nice location, having trees around was nice for shade. It’s a convenient location to get to various trailheads.

Glacier Basin is perfectly located inside the park. Its close to Estes Park and all the trailheads we used. Our campsite was well-maintained and had easy access to a bathroom, fire pit, and bear-resistant food storage. The staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend using the free shuttle in the morning hours because the parking lots really do fill up right away, but you will probably find spots later in the day.

The best campground in the Park. Beautiful, clean, so well run. And it's across from the Bear Lake shuttle stop so you don't have to worry about driving or parking in the Bear Lake corridor. Pro tip: catch the early shuttle (after 6:30AM) to Glacier Gorge TH, hike to Alberta Falls, then go on to Mills Lake, then take the trail over to Haiyaha, then take the trail over to Emerald/Dream/Nymph/Bear Lakes. Catch the shuttle again at Bear Lake TH. Pound for pound, one of the best hikes in the Park.

I was camped at the top of B loop and was fortunate to have enough tall trees to provide mid-day through afternoon shade. It was a shame that A loop wasnt available because that has the best shade of the four loops. The campsites are a little close together but the comfort stations were very well cared for and close to the campsites. I will definitely stay at glacier basin campground again!
