Great campground! It is clean, well-run, and except for the generators on the RVs (which mostly only ran during the permitted hours), quiet. We stayed in "A" loop, which is a mix of RVs and tent campers. It has great access to both the trails and the shuttle system. While there aren't showers, there are at least two "Rinse Stations," which are private areas where you can hang a Camelback or a sun shower and scrub up. At least on "A" loop, the interior sites were more shaded and had lots of sturdy trees for hanging hammocks. The RVs mostly used pads right along the loop road, so the tent campers had the entire interior of the loop to themselves. The sites (like ours, A15) that sort of stick out from the loop offer more privacy but less shade. Ice was available in the evenings (except for Wednesdays) from, I think, 5:30 until 8:00 p.m. for $2.50; firewood for $6 a bundle. The closest mountain is Emerald Mountain, and while there is a trail up it, it's technically outside of the park and thus isn't as maintained and well-signed as the others. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets, running water, and outlets, plus a dishes cleanup sink on the outside of the "Comfort Station." The bear box placement is a little odd, with some in shared places and others essentially for a single campsite. Overall a great experience in a beautiful park. I'd go back today if I could! NOTE: The campsite is at 8,500 feet, so it helped us get acclimated to the altitude quickly but could be a problem for some people.
