Glacier Basin campground is the perfect location for those who want to hike in the Bear Lake Corridor on the east side of the park. The free shuttle (park and ride) is directly across the street from the campground. The shuttle runs every 10-15 minutes with stops at each of the trailheads and returning the same way. For those who want to hike the alpine lakes trail (very popular) hop on the bus and head to the top. NO PARKING PLACE issues. Also when you camp at Glacier Basin you will not need a timed entry permit because your camping reservation lets you in at 1:00 pm of the day you begin camping and you are free to come and go at will.

Great campground, having a reservation here makes it easy to explore the entire park whenever you want since you dont need timed entry to go to bear lakes and surrounding areas.

Excellent view from the site! The only downside is that there is no shade. About a 10 minute walk to park and ride. Due to the large size of the campground, theres only a narrow window of quiet between those who stay up late and those who get up early.

Wonderful campground — sites have a great view of snow-capped mountains in the distance. The restrooms were all impeccably clean. Park rangers were all very helpful.
