Aspenglen is by far my favorite campground in Rocky for a devoted tent camping experience. Being adjacent to a roaring river, the nightscape and natural sound is perfect -- undisturbed by the noise of motorhome generators! It's convenient to the bustling town of Estes Park with a wide variety of restaurants as well as near to many hiking trails and to Trail Ridge Road --the principal route through the Park. Wildlife is abundant, and fellow campers are happy to share stories of the great adventures in this splendid Park!

Great spot, not a lot of privacy. Trees cut down and left around the campsite.

I have been camping at Aspenglen campground since 1976 during the Big Thompson Canyon flood. I have seen a lot of changes but always love it. I wish it was still first come first serve for camping and there wasn't timed entry permits but I get it since it is so popular and Colorado population has exploded. I still miss the days of entering the park without a pass and going to the campground and grabbing any unoccupied site. But still it is a great experience and employees are excellent running everything well.

Aspenglen was a beautiful campground to stay at. We were only staying one night on our way through the area, but it was a great stay. We stayed on a walk-to camp sight in loop A, and I would definitely do that again. We did a short walk through the campground, and all the loops seemed like good places to stay.

Aspenglen is beautiful...way better than expected and we loved our stay there.
Unfortunately we could only get 2 different sites within Aspenglen on back to back nights and the 3 and 4th night had to go to another campground altogether. This was because of the online reservation system. The sites get booked online and the occupants never showed up but we had to leap frog all over the park with all of our tents and gear. That part is frustrating.
