This is the BEST campsite we have ever visited! Sam is so nice and keeps everything so clean and orderly. The river was amazing, the quiet campground was the cherry on top!

We were immediately informed of a mountain lion in and around the campground. Thanks for that. The man in the cart was very courteous. Rest rooms were clean.

Clean, quiet campground close to lots of trails.

Campground spaces and bathrooms were very clean. Spaces were spacious. Lower loop has great access to the river. Campground host, Sam, is kind and welcoming and extremely attentive to guest needs and questions. We will keep coming here every year. My only gripe is the road conditions at the entrance are unsatisfactory and the dirt loop roads need grading. Other than that, Mogote is a beautiful setting and one of our favorites.

Sam was great! The bathrooms were remarkably clean-have never seen a campground bathroom look like that! This campground was spacious and much lessOf an RV park compared to our last campsite. Will def be back.

We enjoyed our stay very much Our site was right down by the river with ample space between us and the other campers. The space for our camper was a little cramped, as it was designed as just sort of a pull-off alongside the road, but with a little jockeying, it worked just fine for our 26' trailer. There were a few mosquitos, but not bad.There was a vault toilet nearby that was kept clean and well-stocked - even had hand gel since there was not a sink or running water. Sam, the camp host, was perhaps the most hard working camp host I've ever encountered. He was also very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful forest with large, clean campsites. Very well-maintained outhouses. Camp host, "Dan the Man" went above and beyond to accomodate our request to move to a different campsite, twice! River is absolutely gorgeous. Birds and chipmunk watcher's paradise.

Wonderful camping spot.

A lovely campground, with the lower loop in close proximity to the river. The upper loop seemed a little too exposed (and close to RT 17) for our taste.Also there's a "swamp" next to sites 22 and 23 (ours), so a lot of bugs. Didn't quite realize this when booking - there are a lot of lower loop PRIME spots along the river though.At night I could hear a little bit of road traffic, but nothing too bad.

The space was absolutely beautiful. I wish we could have enjoyed it more but the mosquitos were horrendous when we were there. We were using 5 different types of repellant and still were eaten alive. We left as soon as possible in the morning to get away from them. It was too bad because the stars were beautiful and the site was really nice. Maybe it could be nice with a screened in space to hang out?

Too many mosquitoes!
@BradJ1676D4A53 · Camped on Jun 16, 2025 at Campsite #27
Believe what other reviews say about the mosquitos! Other than that it was a very nice campground. Well shaded and fairly large and private sites in the lower loop by the river. Well maintained and clean vault toilets. Got a kick out of the "Whichever" signs on the toilet doors instead of the Men and Women.

Mogote is a beautiful campsite, relatively minimal in amenities other than a water hydrant and vault toilets but the rushing river and towering trees all around you make you feel small and in touch with your surroundings. I was in the lower loop and couldn't reccomend it enough.

Love to go up there! Seems a little empty! But always nice to be there! Just wish the piles of trees they cut down werent all over the upper loop. New and old!! Seems like a fire hazard! Been going there for 38 years! Will continue

This is a wonderful campground with lovely spots. Most are fairly private and spaced far apart.

Beautiful quiet campsite despite being close to the road. Minimal traffic during the day and at night. Incredibly clean bathrooms, running water, trash cans, great camp host, clean campsite. Incredibly close to town and other attractions. Will definitely be coming back!

BUGS, BUGS, BUGS! There is such an abundance of overgrowth, and standing water in basically a swamp that abuts to the campground, we were over run with mosquitoes. We were unable to be outside for any period of time. A little attention to thinning out the brush might help with the bug problem. Camp Host was very personable and helpful.

We love Mogote and have camped here for many years, however, facilities need updating. Toilets were kept clean, but are in a state of disrepair.

Beautiful! Loved it.

Upper loop doesn't have many trees and is very open. It looks more desert like. The lower loop has all the great trees, many sites have amazing river access. Be prepared for a lot of mosquitoes. There seems to be a swampy area near sites 22 and 23 near the trash cans that produces these pesky biters.Sam, the camp host does an amazing job at keeping the sites clean and friendly. The bathrooms are very clean and well stocked.If you run out of supplies, there is a small and friendly mercantile about 5 minutes from the campground for you to stock up on what you need, including your fishing license(cash only).We did not see much wildlife other than chipmunks, occasionally we saw a deer on the other side of the river and a couple fisherman saw a bear come down to fish on one of the river islands.

Camp areas are very nice and the river was beautiful, camp host was very good and restrooms were spotless. The only thing that could be better is the overgrowth around the campsites and something that is not controllable is the mosquitos, they were thick. Overall we loved our stay here.

@ChazInSoCal - CA

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
