Groom Creek horsecamp is the best area to camp in and only two hours from Wickenburg. I love camping in the trees. Trails are mainly dirt without many rocks except in a few areas. The only bad thing is getting rained out twice this year. Main problem is a leak in my trailer roof. Having corrals set up is the best. Close to downtown Prescott if you want to go out to eat or visit their wonderful museums.

Even though there is no camp host, I'm glad that someone is restocking the garbage bags and so glad that the dumpsters are shorter for us short people. It was so much easier than prior years. The campground is in a beautiful area and trails are all great.

Groom Creek is my favorite place in this part of Arizona. Since there are no hosts the ranger came thru at least once a day. I was glad that the dumpster is a shorter one. I believe I had made this suggestion last year, so glad it was considered. It is now easier for a short person to throw bags of manure into the dumpster. No sure if this is around the whole camp, but the one closest to 37C was changed to a smaller dumpster. Thank you.

Joe and Nancy do a great job as campground hosts. He was very helpful when I needed assistance installing a new propane tank since I could not lift it into place. I also appreciate the fact that he checks on the campground several times a day. Trails were great and it only rained one day. I only camp at 37C because the site is perfect for me being able to back up close to the corral since I have an electric pump for water for my horse. However, when it rains the corral gets washed out a lot and water stands in it. Last year, Steve came down and dug a trench which isn't there anymore. I also appreciate that there is always an adequate supply of garbage bags for manure.

Groom Creek is one of my favorite places to camp and ride. Greg, the campground host was very helpful. I needed help getting my awning set up correctly, lifting heavy bags of manure into the trash bin (it had rained so bags wee heavier than normal) and one other time to close up a foldable ladder. He is very friendly and the perfect campground host. Trails are in great shape and my favorite spot for a 24' horse trailer is 37C. It is also close to the horse corral which I like. I can run my water hose from the trailer right to the corral, so I don't have to carry buckets of water. Site is perfectly flat as well.

I had a wonderful time at Groom Creek. Nancy & Joe, the campground hosts, were very helpful and friendly. The campsite (Loop C 37) was just perfect. It was nice and level. Trail around the camp and the one across the road from the entrance were very nice...dirt, a little rocky in spots which was no big deal and not strenuous for a 71 year old with spinal stenosis. Everyone in camp was friendly. I definitely want to go back.
