First the campground host Roy was fantastic, he welcomed us, gave us all the instructions (which unfortunately we didn't get them all so we had a problem using the lake), and overall made for a great campground experience. That was the good part. The frustrating and frankly disappointing part was access to the Bucks Lake. We were in the group campground which is about 300 yards from the lake but after spending over $100 per night for our site we found out that we did not have access to the lake. Yes the lake that we went to and camped at. Oh we could have spent an extra $10 a day for access but come on after spend 3x what the campers at the campground across the street paid who had access this was ridiculous to say the least. No signage or notification before hand that this was the case. If it were we would have never stayed in the group campground. A bit like going to a specific restaurant only to have to pay extra for an actual table. This needs to get rectified or there needs to be a clearer notification that spending $100 a night is not enough to get access to the lake. Yes the LAKE we had as our destination. Never experienced anything like this before in a national campground. Example of a silly rule likely put in place by someone who has never been to the campground or the lake.
