I totally agree with reviewer "kyle l" and echo his sentiments exactly. We too have always loved this campground. We've camped here many, many times over the course of two decades. The previous camp hosts were always friendly, helpful, checked in on you to see if you needed anything/say hi, delivered firewood, etc. The bathrooms were always clean & well-stocked. Fees were reasonable & straightforward, nothing hidden. The new management company raised the fees, added the ridiculous $8 per-night "extra vehicle fee", and shortened the check-out time from 2:00 pm to 12:00 pm. The new hosts are unfriendly & RUDE. We got the same attitude as the other reviewer about paying the surprise extra vehicle fee. We also got a lot of attitude about the new, unpublished check-out time. I had a printed copy of my reservation that clearly said 2:00 pm was check-out but was told by the new "host" that, "it's changed, it's now noon". It wasn't until we started getting upset that "she" (the new "host") said they'd honor my original reservation. After all that, just like the other reviewer, we didn’t see her the rest of our stay. Oh wait, I take that back! One night as we were making our last trip to the restroom for the evening, we almost walked in to her in the dark as she hovered around the brush by the edge of the road. She was literally LURKING AROUND watching people. IT WAS WEIRD. Both my friend and I were like, "WOW. That was strange". Speaking of the bathrooms, they were not kept nearly as clean or well stocked as in the past. There was one time that my camp-mate had to seek out an entirely different restroom [in another area of the campground] because the first one he went to was "disgusting" (his words).,
We sure do miss Mike, the previous camp host of the past several years as well as Thousand Trails, the previous management company. The new company "Outdoors In Plumas" and their new hosts just can't compare. We may have to take our business elsewhere.
