Stayed in site #29. This site is somewhat near the road and if you place your tent south of the firepit, you will encounter some headlights at night. The site is very large with 2 different spots for 8-10 man tents. Upon arrival there was some minor trash and dog poop around the immediate area, but nothing that wasn't cleaned up in a few minutes. This site has 2 paths with direct access to the creek behind the site. The fire a few years ago seemed to graze some of the trees at this site but just the bottom half of most. There is ample shade and some sun. The bathroom is a quick 30 second walk. The only downside about being so close to the creek is the mosquitos. This site would have had 4/5 starts if the mosquitos wouldn't have been so overwhelming. We were prepared for some being that its close to the creek but the amount of mosquitos was overwhelming. It could have been due to work being done on the water lines as well. If you have a 30-32 ft RV it would fit on the pad, although the space is narrow. There may not be enough room to park you truck if you have a 26-30 ft trailer, as the pad is narrow. The camp host is very pleasant and is a long term host if you have any issues. The water lines were being worked on during our stay but fortunately we had toilet use and able to use water but it was non-potable. The camp host came around the night before and warned that bathrooms were not available after 8:30 the next am. Host sells firewood. Frenchmens Lake is about 20 min away by car and a nice break. I would recommend this camp site but just bring a lot of repellant. The calming sound of the creek at night and the stars are worth the stay.

I absolutely love camping at Chilcoot! The fire did some damage but its still beautiful!!! I have camped at the lake at different campgrounds but Chilcoot is my favorite the sites are spacious and most are private. The creek was running high this summer after the wet winter. Listening to the Greek and watching it is so peaceful. The camp hosts brought us firewood from the lake as we had no host this time around. I will Lord willing be back soon!!
