Campsite 2 is right on the water. You can step right out of the tent and throw your line in the river. Caught a few trout. Quite a few trees for shade. Bathrooms are clean. No bear lockers. Host was very nice. Lake George has a general store a few miles away for quick supplies if you need them. 11 mile canyon road is a few miles away that is a beautiful drive and good fishing spots.

Third time camping at Happy Meadows and it’s our favorite spot, quiet, nice people, fun for kids, great for tubing and trout fishing.

The campground is awesome There is hiking, fishing and tubing at the campground. The host was terrible.

As a fly fisherman, Happy Meadows is an excellent location. The Platte River flows behind the campsite #2. I could just put on my waders and step in the river. Unfortunately there are only 7 campsites so reservations are hard to come by. The Host were very nice and friendly. The only drawback were the running generators. I wish the damn generators were outlawed. Len
