The sites are spaced out and most have good shade.

We always enjoy our camping visits to Tionesta campground; however, we frequently have to deal with uncut grass at the campsite which is not enjoyable, especially if its raining.

Park is clean and well kept. Sites are very nice, they are large with gravel parking and full hookup. Most sites are pretty level. The fire rings have an adjustable rack for cooking. The roads around the park are paved and smooth. The restrooms are kept clean but in need of updating. There is no control for the shower temperature, you get whatever temperature they have set it at and a single button that needs to be continuously pressed to keep the water running. Also, there is no family shower house, as there should be at a family campground. We spent 6 nights at this park and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful setting, the fresh air, the mountain views, and the sound of water flowing down the river at the rear of our site. This is a really nice place to camp and the town of Tionesta is storybook like. One of the highlights of this trip was our day at Cooks Forrest. We hiked through an area known as The Forrest Cathedral. I would highly recommend checking out this spot, there are few places that can compare to the beauty found here.

Very large, level campsite with an unexpected view of the water from the site. Ruger (our dog) approved. Easy access to attractions within the Allegheny National Forest. We shall return.

We always enjoy TIONESTA! It was so nice to see that they cleaned up a lot of the brush and weeds throughout the campground. However, the new gravel on a few of the sites needs leveled out and raked better. Also, it would be nice if they updated some of the pipe fittings on the water supplies. Thank you for all you do!!

Even though it rained everytime we did anything we had a wonderful time. we hiked the trail by our campsite and hiked the one up the hill and threw the forest. we saw deer laying down , turkeys and grouse. We also went bike riding too. Scenery is beautiful. Even though we got soaked it was an awesome time. Our experience was GGGRRREEEAAATTT!We also went in town and stopped at that little plaze and store down the road. Bought 2 hand made hats that we LOVE! DEFINEATELY booking more sites next year.It is a beautiful place

Tionesta Recreation Area is one of the nicest COE campgrounds we've stayed in. Have absolutely no complaints. Campground can be full, but the rest rooms are always clean and the campground is quiet. Like the full hook up for al sites. Paved streets make it ideal for bike riding. Sites are roomy and private.

Nice level site with plenty of shade. Good separation from neighbors. Can see the river from the site. Great location for outdoor activities. Not many options for eating out in the area.

Great campground but check out at noon on weekends is too early.

Always a nice time here. Enjoyed hiking, canoeing and fishing in the area. A bit more rowdy in the campground on the weekend compared to past visits.

We had a fantastic week of weather. We took the dogs down to the creek so they could go swimming. People were friendly and it was a lovely trip.

Nice friendly place to camp. Great place to kayak.
@AmandaS6104080 · Camped on Jul 20, 2024 at Campsite #70
This campground is well suited for RV camping. However, if you are tent camping, this is not your place! The sites are very small. Barely enough room for two tents and a vehicle. The facilities were in poor shape. Flooded floors in the shower stalls and the toilet stalls. It looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a season or two. I would recommend Cooks Forest or other campgrounds nearby.

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the park. It is always kept immaculate. The gal who was weed whacking worked SO HARD and made everything look beautiful! There is so much to do nearby with the golfing and kayaking. The staff is fabulous! One of my absolute favorite places to visit!

@BranJen - Santa Clara, CA

I wanted to thank you for this site and especially for the notifications feature. Thanks to your site and my subscription I was able to book a campsite I've been annoyingly trying to book for 5 years unsuccessfully. So thank you.

@Wondering - Oregon

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
