This is one of my favorite places to camp, but the concession that's contracting with the Forest Service this year is very disappointing. I never saw a camp host on site to assist with problems, they no longer sell firewood, and the bathrooms were disgusting. I don't mind a neglected bathroom at a campground, but there are signs posted saying the last time they were cleaned and someone updated it every day despite the gross sinks and toilets. They did add toilet paper, remove trash and once mopped the floor without sweeping so there was wet dirt in the corners. The old concession and camp host kept the bathrooms tolerable. The issue is, if the forest service is paying these people to manage the campground, they aren't getting their money's worth and neither are paying campers. Otherwise, this is still a great campground, very camper-friendly with driveway spurs that make it easy to get your camper onto the site, and enough room of of the pavement for tents, Posts with hooks are very handy for hanging lanterns, trash bags, plants, bird feeders etc and I think all developed campgrounds should have them.

We have been here several times and had good experiences. I will say this last one was little short of being completely satisfied. We had a beautiful electric site but was not informed of the water issue, it would have been nice to know ahead of time. In the past the bathroom cleanliness has been good to great, not this last time. Not clean enough for me to use, was a little disappointed on that. Hope if we come back it's back to the way it used to be.

Was nice when they finally got the water up and running. Saw/heard lots of loons, owls and eagles. Saw deer and a bear. Don't think they should charge $5 to use the beach if your paying for camping. Staff were very nice.

I was disappointed that there was no notification that the water was turned off and that there was no water at the dump station.

The bathhouse and toilets were closed down for the rest of the season because a pump broke. So instead of fixing it like any normal person, would they just figured theyd let it go till the end of the season. And they refused to give refunds if you decided to leave because the bathrooms werent working. They did, of course had really disgusting Porta Johns With their smelly blue water in front of the bathroom. Not a good camping experience.

We love the campground and the quietness and the lake, but the mosquitos are absolutely terrible. I feel that if some brush cutting was done or spraying it would be as bad. There were times we couldn't even leave our camper and never was able to have a fire the whole time we were there. I'd that problem was worked on it would be one of my favorites but unfortunately we will not be back because of this issue unless something is done.

We love camping here, great sites, wonderful camp hosts….a beautiful bath house - but it’s been CLOSED…the last three years. Very disappointed, as there is no place to bathe. It would be much nicer if they would have it open next year!

Visited Sylvania Wilderness for the first time in many years. Although it was lovely to walk and canoe in mature woods and waterways, the park is being mismanaged. Main bathrooms and only showers for campers (48 campground, plus wilderness campers) and public beach has been closed for two years turning Clark Lake into a giant bath tub/bathroom with soap suds full of dead insects piling up along the east side of the lake. Two fishermen were illlegally hauling their boat and motor from Crooked to Mountain Lake (wonder how many illegal fish they took out). At the campground someone was using a chain saw to cut down firewood. We stayed 4 nights and never saw a ranger. How sad that a park meant to protect wilderness and wildlife for our future is being neglected. - Brad & Glenna Anderson

The facility is beautiful. Our hosts Bill, Tom and LuAnn maintained a very clean property making our visit most enjoyable.
