The Clark Lake area in Sylvania is a great place for paddling. The campground has 48 very nice sites and is quiet. However, there could be more electrical sites as there is only one on each of the four loops.

We planned on 3 days but were there less than 24 hours. The mosquitoes were terrible I had a double transplant and can’t be in that atmosphere. We tried to get a refund but were denied we literally set up tried to walk around came back packed up and left.

We love Sylvania Wilderness area and Clark Lake campground and have camped there for many years, however we have been VERY disappointed the past few years that the showers have not been open. The fees have not changed but all of the amenities (showers) are not available. The campground hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. Bathrooms at the campground were very clean and kept well supplied.

Just a one-night stop on a Sunday in mid-September so the campground was sparsely populated. We enjoyed this mostly clean, spacious, dark and very quiet forest setting so much, the lack of electricity and cell service was a minor inconvenience. It would have been nice if the prior occupant of our site appreciated it enough to not leave trash in the fire ring and strewn about the site. As always, we leave no trace, even if it was someone else’s.
