This campground is one of the best, if not the best public campground we've ever stayed at. The sites are beautiful, well laid-out, and clean; the whole park is immaculately kept. Sites are color coded by length, so it is easy to find a spot you'll fit into, and generator hours are such that you're not listening to someone's generator all day long. It feels more like camping in someone's garden than out in the desert. The restrooms are pristine, and even in the rest of the monument the vault toilets are the cleanest I've ever experienced. We even had good cell signal while we were there!

My girlfriend and I camped at Twin Peaks for an extended weekend getaway. (Site 078). The campground is very well maintained, the camping spots are integrated in the desert, the facilities were clean, fresh water was available near the campsite, and trash cans are also nearby. We went to a couple of the evening Ranger talks and enjoyed them. The sunsets are amazing and with little light pollution, the night skies were clear and bright. The generator rules meant a quiet evening and didnt interfere at all with either dinner or breakfast meal preparation. Trailheads are available right from the campground. We felt safe in the campground and pretty much anywhere we traveled in the National Monument. Highly recommended place to stay and enjoy. Ajo is close enough to get supplies at the IGA or an espresso at the coffee shop.

Beautiful, quiet and remote desert experience.

Great campground, concrete sites that are close to level, the hosts sweep off the site before you arrive.
Wonderful views with great sunrise/ sunsets!
Bathrooms are very clean and close by.

Loved the entire area. Great services, clean restrooms. Loved the utility sink in the bathroom building. Enough space between neighbors, good paved roads. Great hiking trails from the campground.

The south portion (South Puerto Blanco Drive) of the Puerto Blanco scenic drive is closed. There is an electric sign at the beginning of the drive however the message is abbreviated so a first time guest like us did not understand what it meant. This meant after a 3 hr drive we were then diverted to a 45 mile detour back to Ajo then 40 more miles back to campground. Very inconvenient. Please make the sign message more clear.

Lastly the generator hours are too limited. Two hrs in AM and two in the evening. This should be expanded to 3 hours each period. I spoke with several campers and they all agreed.

Other than that a great time. I will be back as we live in Mesa.

Fantastic location, great weather (January), and beautiful hikes through amazing cacti. What a great campground, well worth the drive.
