Very nice campground and area. We highly recommend visiting the monument and staying in this campground. Pull through sites for RVs. Nice ranger led presentations. Lovely trails and Visitor Center.

The campsite is very clean and quiet. The layout restricting rvs with/without generators is great. Nice trails are accessible and the visitors center is great. The bathrooms are very clean. I would say they are a little too bright at night for dark sky conditions.

170 is a no-generator site next to the tent-only section that was quietexcept for the cooing of the many quails passing through. One thing we noticed immediately upon arrival was all the cars with their hoods popped. Turns out there is a packrat problem and lifting the hood prevents them from nesting in your engine. The campground has drinking water, bathrooms, and showers. It also has a dog-friendly trail around it and another one that goes to the Visitor Center. The one thing the campground (and the park) does not have is a store that sells ice cream and ice. For both, we drove to the gas station at the border.

We realized the sites would be close to the road but they really cram you in. We had two pickup truck campers parked next to usone literally in our back window. Generator hours should also be like most other parks. Not 6 am to 10 pm but in 2-3 hour increments twice a day. The one next to us was so loud and they turned it off at 9:56 pm.

Our second time, love the campground in desert & mountains. We enjoyed the ranger talk, 2 desert view sunset hikes, Ajo Mtn drive and the estes canyon-bull pasture hike. The campground is pristine, very quiet at night and beautiful dark sky.

Great location. Helpful friendly staff. Neat and clean facilities. Sunny January weather was warm. Solar showers cold cold cold.
