We would have rated the camping experience excellent except that we were attacked in the night by a pack rat or rats which caused $700 in damage to the wiring of our truck. We love this campground and have been here several times. Just remember to bring a few bright lights, preferably flashing lights, and some around your truck, in the engine compartment and under the engine in the night. Keep that hood up!

We were in site 8 (a generator allowed loop). This was the 4th time we visited Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument and our 4th stay at Twin Peaks Campground. We really enjoyed our time here. It was sunny and warm (highest it reached was 70 during our stay in February). No rain this time, as we pushed back our trip to February rather than January. As always, we enjoyed the Ajo Mountain Loop (and nature brochere). Visited Ajo as well as eating lunch at Granny's Kitchen in Why. As for being in a generator loop, it really didn't bother us. We had a battery/inverter, so we had coffee and tea in the morning, before the generator hours started. We plan on returning next year. Maybe with solar this time.

This was the 3rd time we camped at Twin Peaks in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. It was as relaxing the other times we stayed. Although, this time there was rain and overcast skies during our stay. Just one day of our 4 that was sunny. Oh well, we still enjoyed the drive on Mount Ajo Dr.We plan to be back again next year.

Park Rangers were very helpful and friendly. However, at least two rangers indicated that I would get a refund on my camping reservation if I canceled the last day with 48 hour notice. The ranger said he canceled the last day of my stay 72 hours ahead, yet I have not received any refund. Need to get the information straight. NO ranger programs was very disappointing but they offered information on how to do a self-guided tour and were available to answer questions after we did the tours. Visitors center was closed except for gift shop-it was safe to spend our money but not safe to watch movie or look at displays!!Solar showers are worthless. Sun was intense yet shower was freezing-gave me a severe headache.Campsites were spacious, clean and private.
