This is a very large campground and the camp sites are relatively close together compared to other US Forest campgrounds. The setting is really nice with cacti everywhere. The sites that allow generators have some weird hours that allow generator use: 8-10 am, and 4-6 pm. Especially the evening hours should end at 7 or 8 to allow cooking dinner.Overall, it is a wonderful and the ranger talks were great.

It was a superior experience at Twin Peaks campground! The sites were cleaned and large sized! The bathrooms were clean as well. One of the rangers came by and talked to us when we were outside. A nice touch! The trails were great! The visitor center staff was awesome too. The only thing that you could improve on is make the 21-mile gravel road less bumpy (maybe put a layer of asphalt on it). We will be back!

One of our favorite campgrounds! So peaceful, so well laid out, well managed, friendly staff. Star program was great too! Highly recommend!

Extraordinary park, well laid out, nice solar showers after 3:00. Evening programs were entertaining. We have a dog, and there are places to walk them. RV campsites, but not on top of each other. Next time I will place myself in a non-generator site. Great visitor center. Good birds. Go there

We stayed in site 27 for a week mid February. This park is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in the generator section. Can run gens 8-10 am and 4-6 pm. Strictly enforced. The site layout was great. We have a 35' fifth wheel. We were in front of a solar bathhouse. The water was never what I would call warm. Dog friendly. Can walk them on all paved roads and two of the trails. The trails are long. A little surprised that you can't take on more trails, since many allow horses even. The Ajo Mtn. Trail was a beautiful drive. 19 miles and 2 hours in the truck. Pretty rough ride in 1 ton truck, but passable even in car. Definitely glad we went. Bring supplies. The nearest grocery store is about 30-40 minutes away, except for the gas station in Why. They don't carry much though so you will end up in Ajo at IGA. Firepits must be elevated 12 inches to protect the roots of some of the cacti.

Unless you absolutely need a generator, stay in the non-generator section. The generators run from 8-10 am and 4-6 pm, so forget enjoying dinner hour. But this campground and hiking trails are incredible. Even has cell coverage. Its remote, mostly uncrowded and peaceful. Only drawback is to come prepared with all the food and supplies youll need. Ajo is the closest city, over 30 miles away, and its small.

Campground was in excellent condition and well maintained. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Access to wonderful desert scenery and hiking trails. Closing all the bathrooms but one at the visitor center didn't seem necessary, but likely a flow down from management. Overall excellent experience and should be all that better as soon as the government's over reaction to Covid becomes more rational.

Our actual experience at the campground was outstanding: facilities and amenities are wonderful, clean, safe. Rangers and volunteers are knowledgeable and helpful. Hiking trails, scenic drives, all terrific. All that gets a 5. The new (to us) reservation system gets a rating of 1. We found it difficult to navigate and understand, or make a useful reservation. What’s the point of having a reservation system at all if you can essentially only reserve one night at a time? We almost didn’t come because of that, but took a reservation for one night, and dealt with FC/FS the rest of our stay and had to move sites partway through our stay. We hated that. Please drop the reservation system entirely or make it better and useful!

Beautiful Park!! Enjoyed all the trails as well as the sunsets/sunrises. Not to mention the starry nights.
