Great Park all around. One of our favorites over the years. Well designed. Well managed. Special Sonoran desert. Night Sky...Quiet. Shout out with a Thank You to Ranger Matthew from Michigan! He appears to be a very good Park Ranger!!

The campground was very well maintained and there was lots of space between campsites.

While our visit was short, the campground was pleasant. One does not feel exposed to one's neighbors as vegetation between sites creates a modicum of privacy unlike that of other parks and unexpected in the desert environ.

Our overall experience was excellent. Campsites are large and very clean. We had a lovely view of the desert and surrounding mountain range from our campsite. We enjoyed the Rangers talk on bats despite the cold temperatures. All the staff we met were friendly and well informed. We will definitely return for a 3rd visit. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is one of our favourite places on earth. Many thanks to all who keep it so pristine.

Well-kept campground with lovely cacti. Nice evening walking nearby. Sites are very close together. Since sites are so close together, the fact that RVs are allowed to run generators for much of the day can make the area noisy and smell of diesel. Quietest area is the tent-only area because it is furthest from the RVs running generators. There are no fire pits. Rangers and staff at the ranger station are very helpful and nice.

Twin Peaks is a gem of a campground set in the beautiful Sonoran Desert! Normally, I would comment first on the facilities but, in fact, the most amazing feature of this campground is the dedicated group of friendly volunteers who keep the place absolutely spotless! Each campsite has a drive-through, concrete driveway and RV pad and I would defy anyone to find a single piece of loose gravel on theirs when they arrive! And the restrooms are immaculate, too! It was wonderful to have solar-heated showers, but be aware that the temperature of the water can vary considerably depending on the weather and time of day (height of the sun in the sky). The campground is fairly remote, so be sure to stock up with groceries before arriving. There is gas and a convenience store in Lukeville nearby, but the area seems a bit sketchy. However, Ajo, about 30 minutes away, is an unexpectedly beautiful town with an interesting history and is well-worth visiting on its own merits. Within the park, be sure to visit the visitor center, take in an evening interpretive presentation and drive the highly scenic Ajo Mountain loop. Sunrise views from the campground can be stunning!

I worked 30 years for the Dept. of the Interior both for the National Park Service and Bureau of Land Management. Twin Peaks Campground ,in my opinion, is in the top 5% of the campgrounds in the Interior system. All pads are concrete and level. Some are a little close but most have good separation with native vegetation between sites. Lots of animal life around the campground and good views. This is the only campground that I know of in the Interior system that has free solar powered showers in half the restrooms. Until Covid motorized naturalists lead tours were run from the campground which were excellent. Hopefully this program will return. The only negative thing seems to be over zealous campground hosts that have their own interpretation of campgrounds rules that are not covered in the Code of Federal Regulations. I have been camping and exploring this Monument for the last 15 years and find something different each year I visit. If you're looking for a great experience in the Upper Sonaran Desert this is the place to visit and camp.

We spent 5 nights at Twin Peaks campground in the middle of February 2022. The weather was perfect..warm days and pleasant, cool, quiet starry nights. The campground is absolutely gorgeous with all the lush cactus vegetation. It's the only campground where you'll see Organ Pipe Cactus. The campsites are extraordinarily clean with exceptional clean bathrooms and showers. The employees were very helpful and friendly offering good suggestions of where to hike and what to do. It is my favorite campground during the winter months. This is our third visit and definitely will keep going back.

We booked one night then stayed an additional 8 nights in a FCFS site. Super quiet, beautifully maintained, peaceful atmosphere. We hiked over 15 miles and biked both the Ajo Mountain and Puerto Bianco drives. Awesome! We’ll definitely return again fit long stays. Worth the drive. Thank you for staying open and caring about personal safety during the pandemic.

This is a wonderful place to camp, with large spaces relatively far apart. The campground is well kept, clean, and quiet. The park itself if beautiful,
with a lot of hiking trails available, and there are no crowds. The number of generators in use in the campground, however, is a drawback and the noise really spoils the peacefulness. However, the park management has instituted strict hours for their use and the rules generally seem to be followed. So for 20 hours a day, you have a wonderful park and for the other four hours you have a cacophony of generators.

Twin Peaks is convenient to the Ajo Mountain Drive, so I chose to stay there this time. In general I don’t love large campgrounds too much. My only comment, which I think is very important, is that the restroom closure is very inconvenient and doesn’t make any sense to me. I had to walk a quarter-mile round-trip to get to the closest restroom to my campsite. If anything having fewer restrooms is more dangerous to the health of campers because we are each exposed to more people. I hope you open all the restrooms soon.

Campsites are rather crowded together, but not worse than any other NPS campground. Sites were clean and the campground was clean. Dump station is clean.

We do not like the vehicle driveway directions enforced by the curves in the road. Not all RVs want to be parked in the same orientation (for solar power reasons).

It would be nice if generator usage was limited to fewer loops or maybe moved to a remote site. The noise spoils the wonderful morning and afternoon relaxation time.
