We had an excellent stay! Campsites were well maintained, restrooms and showers clean, and the park service employees helpful and informative. Don't miss the evening programs, or the ranger-led hikes. Our favorite park!

Really great campground, clean. There are a lot of spots here but spaced very well. We were the only campers in the entire campground, but I imagine it feels private either way. You can see the border wall and the lights from the nearest Mexican city which is cool. The sunsets were incredible.

The campground is large and well laid out. Great care was taken in preserving the desert flora when the campground was created, so you really get the camping in the desert experience. We were at the campground when it was only partially full (early December), and it was an extra treat because of that. In winter, the showers are not that warm, but they were welcome nonetheless. We walked to the visitor center each day on the trail. The Desert View Trail is a must at sunset or sunrise. Spectacular scenery up there on the ridge. Be sure to look for the giant packrat midden up on the ridge right beside the trail. We got great information from the National Park volunteers in the Visitor Center. Their knowledge and friendliness was a real boon to our experience. At their suggestion, I arrived at sunrise one morning to do bird photography at the pond behind the Center. A beautiful shot of a male Cardinal was a happy payoff. While at the pond, I saw many other birds, and was very pleased to see a Road Runner.
