Eagle Creek Campground lived up to its name. There was an eagle's nest just below the bluff near my campsite, and I could hear the chicks in it. Above, the bald eagle parents soared throughout the day.I was not as bothered by the noise from the highway as I expected. It was fairly easy to tune it out.The only significant downside was that the ground was extremely rocky, possibly filled with crushed rock at some point. That made driving tent stakes almost impossible.

Wonderful camp host. Watch out for some poison oak on outlook trail. Other trails are heavily trafficked

Pros- Campsite are spacious and you don't see your neighbors. Depending what site, they can allow 4 cars. They have bathroom and running water ( non drinkable, great for dishes). Accessable hike the waterfall. Cell service is great (T-Mobile)
Cons- Next to the freeway, so it can be difficult to sleep though. We went during the fire ban, and it was freezing at night. No showers.

Beautiful campground with tons of huge trees in every campsite. Yes you can definitely hear the noise from I-84 below but it wasn’t too bad for us. Our site (#6) was super private and felt very secluded from the other sites, which was super nice! There’s a trailhead right in the campground, which is super convenient (although the trail is still closed after the fire a few years ago so we didn’t get to check it out). The pit toilets were some of the best we’ve experienced! Very clean, super nice building and there were 3! The campground is compact but it’s also super private; all of the sites felt like they were set apart from their neighbors. Beautiful setting, although definitely wouldn’t recommend it for anyone sensitive to noise as I-84 was definitely audible. But we loved it!
