On the way to the park Friday evening, we had a blowout and another tire damaged on our camper near Edmond ok. The only tire shop open , had only one tire. They did not have another tire for a spare. Wen had to drive back home with our camper. We came to buckhorn Saturday with our van and stayed at a hotel. When we tried to get a refund for the 60 dollars we spent for our spot, they denied the refund.

Buckhorn Campground is our favorite campground, by far. The campsites are well maintained and the lake views are spectacular.

Nice easy spaces to back into. Water valve leaked so I did not keep the hose connected. Good fire pit and table.

I'm a frequent camper at Lake of the Arbuckles. and Buckhorn which is an outstanding NPS site.

Very nice campground. Exceptionally clean bathrooms and showers. Quiet. Great sunsets over the lake and dark skies for watching stars in the campsite. Others have commented on the complexity of the approach driveways to the sites which are true. Be sure to read what others have written. My only less than positive comment is the RVs that have LED outdoor lights. Very, very bright in the darkness. I wish the RV companies would shield the light fixtures by directing the light downward instead of the LED lights projecting into other campsites. Feels like you are sitting in a spotlight when the lights are on in the evening. Would highly recommend this campground in the off season when fewer people are present.

The campground is very beautiful, clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and accommodating. One of the nicest places weve camped in Oklahoma, especially within 2 hours of OKC. Well definitely be going back!

Nice and clean place for camping. Electric campsites are great. There are lots of ants near the lake, so be careful in that area. The restrooms/showers are easily accessible and very clean.

We loved the peacefulness and it was relaxing on the water.
The coves were great for our canoes!
We will definitely be camping there again!

The previous camper was overstaying it’s checkout time by several hours. The camp host remedied the problem in a timely manner by offering us an alternative site of our choice. Facilities were exceptionally clean. It was an enjoyable stay.

It took us over 45 minutes to back our 40’ 5th wheel into a site said to be capable of a 45’. The entry road is so narrow that we ended up in the ditch trying to back it in. Great help from the camp hosts. Purchased $25 of sand to enable us to get out of the site

The only reserveable area is Loop C. The best campsites are first come/first serve in Loop D. And sites 60-88 in Loop C, which you can reserve. We reserved 56C and 53C. Both were advertised as accommodating RV length of 42 and 50 feet. This was significantly inaccurate. 56C was used by a 22 ft trailer and it barely fit, with leveling really difficult. 53C, the 50 ft site, would not work at all for our 35 foot 5th wheel. We managed to get into the site but it wasn't long enough and completely impossible to level left/right or front/back. There is no phone signal and the ONLY way to change sites is online or by phone. We managed to walk to an area with what seemed to be less than one bar of cell signal, and somehow brought up the Rec.gov app to find out that site 52, next to 53, was available. Narrow camp road with steep drop off right next to site 52 with two trees on either side of campsite and a large rock that had been placed in a ridiculous location near the driveway. Somehow, miraculously, we made it into the site with multiple attempts. And we were able to get an acceptable degree of level to be comfortable. We had a lovely four day stay in this quiet peaceful gorgeous park. Next time we will avoid these three sites and go for something in the 60-88 portion of Loop C. Be advised. πŸ™‚ I would doubt that any of the RV length info of the campsites is accurate, though. Plus the road through Loop C is narrow, but navigable with caution. But this park has wonderful features, clear beautiful water, abundance of fishing opportunity, very clean shower house and great camp hosts. Lots of trails to walk, a lovely area with spring fed creeks and "Little Niagara". We would return. If you're a tent camper, you will love it. The tent sites are simply amazing.
