Unlike other wonderful camping experiences over the last 8 years, we were disappointed. The length of the campsite should have allowed for our vehicle used to pull our camper. Not only could we not park at our campsite (not even one vehicle) the parking was at least 3/4 mile away. I understand that space is limited but it should be noted when booking that a vehicle would not fit into the space. The curve required extreme caution to back in the camper and low large stones that are not visible from the vehicle caused damage to our exhaust system. We found this issue could have been disastrous as we drove home after our stay. The tailpipe could not exhaust properly which cause a heat build up that melted the mat in the bed of our truck. Please add cautions to this site that is not conducive to a 23 ft camper. Please post notice considering the distance to parking the primary vehicle used for pulling. We do not travel with more than one transportation source.

Campsite was clean. Bit of a hike to the restrooms. It's close to the amphitheater and not far from a couple swimming areas. I would stay at this site again.

Excellent experience. RV campsite was well maintained. There were only a few campers for the weekend. Bathrooms were clean. Perfect getaway.

The bathroom was far and it was hard to find .. will good idea to have a campground map in each loop Phone reception was very week

It was hot outside but the stay was good. Was in a partly shaded site that was pretty level. Was kind of surprised that a park ranger never stopped by or anything. I had made my reservations on line.

We loved this campground! The sites are wooded, and fairly private with a view of the lake. The facilities were clean and well kept. Cell signal for Verizon was minimal at our site in campground C. Our neighbors said their AT&T was fine. We will come back again!

Camped in Loop C. The campground is nice, but the road into the Recreation Area is super rough. Its the reason Ill opt for a different campground in the future.

Amazing trails. Clean and no trash! Campground were spaced evenly and not to close. This ranks up there with the best camping trip I have ever had!!!!

Beautiful campground with many trees that help you feel secluded. Unfortunately, although we had reservations that included the size of our trailer and one vehicle, there was not enough space for our pickup to fit too. I broke out my tail light trying to fit it in between two rocks bordering the site.

Was a good stay however, the problem I had was how so many tent campers didnt clean up after themselves. Trash was left as well as dog waste. Apparently, its a party place for a lot of locals for holiday weekends. We didnt have any issues but you could tell many people didnt care about leaving it better than they found it.

The location was about 5 miles from the trails at Sulphur Springs. No cell service. Great camp host. Nice showers and bathrooms. Well definitely be back.

This is a favorite campsite for me, but I have found the campground full and Had to go to another several times during the "in" season. This trip was ideal, only a few other campers and all amenities in place. Clean showers and restrooms as usual. The only negative for me was that I did not realize hunting was allowed in the recreation area. Luckily I had an orange vest for my dog, and an orange cap so was able to venture out on the trails, my primary reason for camping. So, after Thanksgiving is a great time to visit Buckhorn. We happened to have great weather as well!

We had a wonderful time at Buckhorn. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful and watched out for the campers multiple times during the day. There were no issues at all to complain about!

We absolutely LOVE Buckhorn campground. It can be a little tricky weaving navigating through the campsite with our travel trailer, but if you take it slow, you shouldn't have any issues. I wouldn't recommend anything larger than 30 ft. The area is beautiful with plenty of places to hike and explore. Each campsite has a nice gravel pad to set up at that comes equipped with a campfire ring and lantern pole and the bath house is super clean for showers or using the restroom. We'll keep coming back for years to come.

We thoroughly enjoyed the facilities at Buckhorn Campground in Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Clean, safe and well attended.
