Very beautiful and plenty to do even in the cooler months. We hiked and rode our bicycles on nearby trails. The town of Sulphur has several cute shops and restaurants if you are looking for something inside. The restrooms in the campground are very nice, well maintained, and have hot showers. We will continue to come back.

Camping area was pristine! Restrooms and showers were spotless! Camp hosts Mark and James were extremely helpful. Camped with 24 other ladies and we all had a wonderful time!

Absolutely loved this area. The campsites were well maintained, the bathrooms were clean and there was plenty to do. Just know that if you want to take to the trails, you’ll have to drive to the trailheads. Also, make sure you check out a map before you head to the area as cell service is very limited and GPS will likely take you to Guy Sandy campground which is a good 20-30 minute drive on country roads from the main campgrounds for loops A,B,C and D.
If you have time, head into Sulfur for some cute stores and your best bet for finding firewood. Definitely check out Travertine Creek to cool off in the summer. It gets crowded fast but it’s beautiful and the water is cold (very helpful during our 102 degree days). Finally, pack plenty of sunscreen, bug repellent and Cayenne pepper. The mosquitoes are fierce and the raccoons are fearless. We shook the pepper around our campsite at night to deter them from digging through our fire (yes, one actually stuck his hands in the embers to get some food we had in it) and getting too close to us at night. Please be careful with this if you have pets, it will be uncomfortable for them as well!

The campground was awesome except for the camper to our south in 60C who played loud music up until 8:30 pm. He really ruined our experience and since it was a holiday weekend, no one would answer the phone when we called the office. The lake was beautiful, the forest great. If it were not for the jerk who ruined our experience, I would rate it 5 stars.
