It was a great experience, except for all the stickers. Something should be done, little children cannot play and have good experience. When kids cant play, its hard for anyone to enjoy their camping time. Also pets have stickers in their feet and you cant walk them and enjoy your time and get walking in.

It could have been a pleasant stay if the grass would have been mowed. The busiest holiday of the year and the grass was knee high!! You guys up the price of camping for what? Sure wasnt for the up keep, get it together!

W-26 was very shaded and quiet while we were there for a week and half. The storms that came through caused a power surge and we lost our GFCI in the trailer. While this was just a minor inconvenience, it caused a trip to the local hardware store for a new GFCI outlet and then time to replace it. Once the repairs were made all was good. The only thing that was of a concern was the fact that we had to make several trips to the sanitation station. It would be nice if the park had sewage hook up to eliminate the need to carry/transfer the waste via a sewage dolly where I witnessed what looked like a few people had missed the mark.We are planing on returning soon and then again in the fall.

Sandburs were a problem. We seen people pull up and just leave their campsite instead of staying they were so bad.

Long pull-thru site was nice. But lots of stickers. Park needs more signs to direct you to your site. Big barricade around "hole" at dump station, making it difficult to connect your sewer hose. Exit was tight, especially if you have a big rig.

Nice Campground, nice people.Reservation was a debacle. We reserved the site for the evenings of October 30 and 31. On the 31st at about 8 PM the host came and and said we had to leave because weren't supposed to be there. They were closing the loop at midnight and locking the gate. I told them we had reservations, so we had the site for the night. After showing her my reservation on Recreation.gov. She said she was closing the gate, but she would not lock it.

We enjoyed our 5 days at Bell Starr very much. Great view of the lake, watched the Great Blue Herons fish on the shore, gorgeous sunsets. We shopped in nearby Checotah's Walmart, ate very good food in an Asian restaurant, and visited the little Creek Casino in Eufaula. Won some money there so very good trip that day. Our ATT cell and data service worked great, as did our DISH service for TV. The 50 amp power and water worked well for our site, although one afternoon, there was a very heavy rain-thunder-lightning storm which downed the power in the whole area for two hours. Then it came back on and all was good. Will definitely come back to Belle Starr again when in the area.Only one issue, the dump station was a tight turn for our 40-foot motorhome towing a jeep. We made the turn with some careful steering.

Nice camping area. Close to the water. Not to cramped feeling with others camping around us. Major draw back was SAND BURRS. There everywhere. Will not return do to this issue. Camper beware.
