The Juniper loop is so lovely with sites spaced well apart. Wildlife and birds everywhere you look.

We showed up to our campsite and someone was in our spot. We tried calling every number possible including this Recreation.gov number. No one answered except for recreation.gov yay, finally someone answered but we were told they couldnt do anything about it. We told them that the spot next to the site we book was open and asked if we could just move there. We were told no & that we would have to contact the people at the guard shack. Once again, no one would answer. We ended up just parking in the spot that was open and had to deal with it the next day but obviously if the park was full, this would have put us in a huge bind. I think if recreation.gov is able to schedule then they should have the right to change it when something like this happens. The communication was is absolutely awful and I will not be booking before I show up to the site anymore so that I can insure I have my spot available.

We had a nice campsite in J loop. Level, easy to back into. There were so many fossils down on the lake shore it was crazy!! The only thing that bothered me was that the lights across from us were pretty bright and on all night but that wasnt to much. We watched the eclipse here and it felt very special.

Beautiful place, but completely unmanaged. Never saw staff or a Ranger the whole time we were there.
When we arrived there was someone in my reserved site who freely admitted that they didn’t pay for the site because they were first come first served and free.
Lesson learned.

Wonderful place for a quick getaway before holiday craziness! Large sites with concrete pads. Our site had a covered patio table making setup easy easy. Lots of room between sites!

For prime sites stay in “J” loop, Jasmine Road. The rest of the sites are gravel pads in the woods with electricity only. Did not realize that the road names begin with the letter of the loop I.e., J loop - Jasmine Road, O Loop - Owl Road etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay once we got our reservation changed to J Loop.

Lousy.the man at the gate was rude at the get go! They got rid of the nice Mr. Kelly and put a very rude person in his place. I had booked a month before our arrival and had the confirmation number, money withdrawn from our account, booked for 3 days. We arrived,had to speak to the rude gate person, got all hooked up. We stayed the first night and then I got an email that said they had cancelled our reservations for the next two days,no reason, but we had to leave. I think someone's buddy wanted our campsite J4. We have been camping here for about ten years or more. My family has been very upset about this.
