This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Close to the American river with some of the campsites having river views. Lots of chipmunks running about and have even seen deer on occasions. Its just a short 15 minute drive up to Naches peek and 15 min drive in the other direction to Whistling jacks for gas or snacks. There are lots of downed trees this year which has made a mess of some of the campsites unfortunately. But its still a lovely place. The bathrooms are not getting cleaned this year which is unfortunate. But Im the past it was never an issue. Hopefully next year that gets worked out.

The campsite was clean. It was nice to have a host that came through and checked on people and give a pass for free parking at day use sites. We did not use the pass but it was great to have it just in case. We have been to a day use area before and just needed to use the restroom and it was somewhat of a production to do it without having to pay. The bathrooms were very pleasantly, ECEPTIONALLY clean. What a change from some of the other campground bathrooms where we have stayed. The clean bathrooms were probably the biggest and best thing we noticed about Pleasant Valley Campground.

The ants are still bad there (and they bite), but the setting is great. Excellent river access and trails to explore. Quiet during the beginning of the week. Nice host.

Small campground with spacious sites.

Do not reserve site #11. ANTS! This site is not habitable for camping. Millions of ants swarm the site due to 2 ant hills within 50 feet of the site. Many downed trees yet very little sunlight gets through. Sadly the better sites were reserved yet no one showed up. We would have changed to site #9 if we would have known they would be a no show. Lodgepole Campground about 3 miles west would have been a better stay.

We had a great experience. The camp sites were clean and private. The entire area was very quiet and clean. We will definitely visit this campground again.

The camp ground itself is okay but there were so many ants. I'm not talking about hundreds....I meant billions. There were ant hills which were 50 feet from the camp site. I could not stand still at one place for more than 2 secs because ants will climb up the shoes. Every square foot, there are thousands of ants. I understand ants are part of nature but i dont think this is how a camp site should be.

The ants were everywhere! If you have a tent or a pet, I would not recommend coming here. My dog got bit by the ants as were getting setup and we had to find a different campground

We enjoyed our stay. Campground had been cleared out after the winter. Facilities were in good shape. We'd definitely go back.

Campground was clean, foragable, camp host was generous and helpful. Beautiful scenery along the American River, dense forest with clear signs of wildlife and many birds. Secluded, calm, all facilities stocked and working properly.

Clean bathrooms, good campsite just by the American river. Ants were present but didn't bother us.

Beautiful and quiet campground. We were next to the river and enjoyed. Theres a nice trail that is part of the campground that is stroller and wheel chair accessible. The campground could use some TLC but overall a lovely spot.

Beautiful campsite, will 100% be back! Room for 2, maybe even 3 tents depending on size. Easy access to river down below. Ants were present but not an issue as others stated. Will definitely be back here next summer! No cell service.

we enjoyed our campsite very much. All the campsites are spread apart so you have privacy and are all in nice condition. Our campsite was by the American River with a small meadow between us. We saw lots of humingbirds and chipmunk and other birds. The fighter jets was pass over us atlest once a day, fun to see.There are lots of ant mounds around but was not bothered by ants and misqutoes were not bad either. We had a relaxing 4 days here and will go back

There were signs warning of high danger for fires so no campfires. There were a number of people having a camp fire at this campground. Overall the campsite was beautiful with great views of the mountains.

Great Camp ground, safe, clean and quiet, we will definitely return.

Great spot. We stayed at #8 which was plenty large enough for two cars and two large tents. Great access to the water and the shore contained an abundance of perfect skipping stones. Ants, while present, were a non-issue for our family which included a 5 year old and 1.5 year old.

We love this campground, the sites are spaced a good distance apart. The camp host is very friendly. The only reason for a 4 star and not 5 was the inconsiderate camper across from us. He ran his smelly diesel generator continually. He did turn it off at quiet hours but it ran from 8AM to 10PM, we could see a television in their camper van, and if you have to watch television when you go camping and disturb the peace and quiet of the wilderness for others then go to an RV park or stay home.

Nice site, love the area. It would be great if maintenance crew could check for and cut limbs overhanging the road through camp. Initially thought we just had damage to bathroom vent, but discovered damage extended length of RV and had to have roof replaced.
@KarinaD2812945 · Camped on Aug 26, 2022 at Campsite #6
The campground is excellent, very nice and quiet. The river is near, not deep and incredible for kids. The restroom is clean and it has a great smell (not flush). Host is amazing and absolutely kind. We expected a wonderful time there.
The nache loop trail is near, and also the Boulder Cave Trail. The campground is in between. Excellent location.

I just used PerfectCamp.com to book six consecutive August nights at the most popular campsite in one of the most popular campgrounds in Humboldt Redwoods State Park in California. That is not anything I could have accomplished anywhere else with the ease I did here! Thank you, PerfectCamp! I LOVE this site! You will find me on several other camping sites but the design, format, functionality, and personality of this the best. It’s fresh and clean.

Wow! Woke up this morning to a notification that a favorite had opened at Paulina, and when I went to check, it was there. This membership just paid for itself in the first 24 hours I owned it. Couldn't take the site it conflicted with a trip already set, but it truly was there. Thanks Tons.

@CarlaLThompson - Colorado

I just love this site and I tell everyone about it! It's so competitive to secure desired campsites and the alerts really help track when sites free up. The best part of this story is our alert notified a cancellation the next day!!!!!! Just incredible!!!
