We reserved and camped in site #21 for three nights, from July 3rd through July 6th. The campground looked like it was well cared for, and the Hosts were very nice to visit with. An unexpected surprise at Lodgepole was that they have the water system up and working again for the first time in about 3 years. It's a solar powered pump system that provided very cold and good tasting water from a faucet that was within about 10 feet of the well and Pump House. The faucet had great water pressure too for refilling our 5-gallon water jug. The campground was mostly full, with several sites reserved with no one in them. What a shame people have to be so inconsiderate to reserve a campsite and then not show up to occupy it. There should be a hefty fine for people who do this. We see this way too often in the Forest Service Campgrounds. Our stay in Lodgepole Campground was peaceful and quiet, especially at night. There was some traffic noise in the daytime, but it was not too bad. The traffic noise mostly comes from loud motorcycles going by on Highway 410. There were also some very nice, friendly fellow campers in campsites around us.

We always have a wonderful time at Lodgepole! So many memories made!! My family and I have been going up there for more than 20 years and hopefully 20 more!! The park hosts are always so helpful and bathrooms are very clean and comfortable!!!
The campground is well designed with ample space between campsites and located within 20-30 minutes of a number of beautiful Mt. Rainier hikes. Our hosts took time to introduce themselves to us the first morning we were there, as they made "rounds". They noted that that they usually drive through the entire campground three times a day to help ensure the safety of campsites as campers are out exploring the area. We will definitely consider returning for another stay.

The campground is nice. Our spot was clean and easy to park in. We enjoyed walking down to the river. We thought our site would be right on the river as per the on-line map; but you couldn't access the river from our site. We were disappointed to see how many of the sites were reserved but "no shows." Like many people, we like to camp and struggle to get reservations. Its hard to see empty reserved sites. We would like to see a way for unoccupied campsites to be listed as open if the reserving party hasn't arrived by a given time, for example 5:00 pm. There are 34 campsites at this location, all were reserved, and only 7 were occupied our second night. A big "con." We were very disappointed in the quality of bathroom maintenance. They were not ever cleaned or swept in the three days we were camping there and the men's never did have any toilet paper. We are ok with vault toilets, but this mess was a deal breaker for us.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
