The park staff member, and the host were very pleasant. They have been directed to be rather dogmatic about the leash policy. 100% at all times, even when well behaved and trained dog is in the campers site is a bit excessive. I understand the safety issue, but especially insisting that a smaller breed dog, taking a nap next to it's owner is ridiculous. If a dog isn't bothering anyone within the camp site it should be considered OK.

Absolutely beautiful. Campsites are placed apart from one another perfectly. Clean campground.
Vault toilets. No showers.
The road (12) has truck traffic but not much during the night.
I loved it and will go back.

This is definitely a water recreationers place! The campsites are nicely wooded, but with the exception of a very few, are not private. Or quiet. The campground is directly off HWY 12 so youll hear constant traffic noise (big rigs!) even through the night, and the noise from Silver Beach resort can get loud too, when its full and if youre on the Highway side of the campground, which we were, at site 34. There is a trail that cuts over right there though and they have a store with a cafe, firewood and boat rentals. Theres even a play area for kids with swings and a zip line. We took a peddle boat with the kids out to the little island in Rimrock lake and it was gorgeous. They have a small beach at the resort along the lake, otherwise access to the water inside the campground was sketchy without a boat because theres really no shore anywhere when the water is high. We were just there over 4th of July and the water was very high. There are trails that go around the lake and we found streams and dry creek beds to explore, so theres plenty to do away from the campsite. The sites are big and open, we saw a lot of RVs. If I had known more about the campground beforehand I probably would have chosen something a bit deeper in the forest with more private sites but, truthfully, being out on that beautiful sparkling lake and tromping through creek beds basically made the noise and lack of privacy worth dealing with for a few nights, so if your plan is to be out on the water or elsewhere most of the day and use the campsite just to eat and crash, this is a great spot - but bring ear plugs if youre a light sleeper!

Camp host was the best we've ever experienced - sites were clean, raked and even the fire pits were cleaned out. The campground was just ok though - there wasn't good access to the lake as the water was still very high in mid-June. We were in sites 33 & 34, which are back-to-back with three other sites, so there was really no privacy.
