I feel like this campground would have been a nice place if it hadn’t been for the bees that kept bothering us. They were swarming every time we were cooking or eating. We ended up leaving after the first night because of this.
The layout of our site (#8) felt a little small, but we made it work. We had 2 fairly large tents and 2 regular size tents as well as a 10’ x 10’ screen canopy.
There was a river that ran behind the campsite. It was more like a creek. It was also very rocky. And the path to the river was a little overgrown but not too bad.
There wasn’t too much noise from the road, which was nice. And the sites were pretty well spaced out so it didn’t feel like we were on top of other people.

Recreation.gov is problematic. Between the reservation fee that almost 30 percent of the cost of a single night at a site and the change fee exceeds that, and limited refunds if you cancel a reservation. And presumably these fees do not go towards our public land. All of these contribute to a platform that is hostile to the public and in my view does not align with the values of the national forest service. But good luck getting a camping site in Washington without booking ahead. Disappointing all around.

It was a very beautiful place. Loved hearing the creek at night. Very sappy, cold at night bring a few blankets and some areas had a lot of ants.
