Bill and Jill were amazing hosts, kept the camp clean and bathrooms were spotless! Really nice hosts with great conversations, kept our camp and stuff safe while we were out on our daily adventures! No real cell coverage at the campground for us, were on Verizon. From the campground it's a short hop to Mt Rainier and Paradise, cell coverage along the way in spots, note that reservations are needed between 7:00am and 3:00pm to get into the park, after 3:00pm access is open to all. There was kind of a stampede to get into the park and to Paradise at 3:00 but on the way down we had the park to ourselves.Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is also close by and has great food! Also worth note is the gondola ride to the top for views of Rainier and other local mountains. Additionally they offer a shuttle to Paradise that skips the reservation system if you didn't make a res ahead of time. There is plenty of trails to hike that start right at the campground entrance, we really liked the one across the street along the river.Another day trip worth note was Bumping Lake, it's a reservoir created in the early 1900s but they left all the stumps from the trees, makes it a really cool place to hike and kayak. All in all great camp site. We for sure recommend it.

The site we chose, #17, was supposed to be the last one at the end of this spur. We we got to the site, another had been added which not on the map when we made the reservation; our reservations are always based on the map rec.gov provides and given we are often not familiar with the campsite we choose even that is chancy at best. Our site so small we had the choice or either putting up the tent or parking the truck, but not both. This was completely unacceptable so we left. Rec.gov needs to do a much better job with their maps and provide pictures of each site so the camper can make a better choice - but this is a government agency and that suggestion will more than likely fall on deaf ears.
