Water was contaminated. But no prior notice given. So had to travel miles to buy water for large group. Also, no toilet paper in the pit toilets. So had to go to town to buy that too. Campsite itself was fine. I would ask for some money back if I knew who to ask.

The care and maintenance of Wilderness Gateway has deteriorated beyond belief. We have had our family reunion there for 20+ years. We always reserve Loop A, 4 years ago a windstorm went through, we were not notified and we all showed up to a campground that looked like a war zone. The next year the large downed trees were removed but trails were blocked. Trails are not maintained and now this year the main bathroom that all our "tent" family uses was locked up with no access so a Loop that has approximately 80 people had one outhouse. Cost have gone up every year, this last year was $850 for 3 nights, why then can we not expect the campground to be maintained??? Really disappointed.
