Portsmouth, NH, located on the scenic New England coast, offers campers a mix of coastal and woodland camping experiences. To the east, the New Hampshire Seacoast offers beachside camping with easy access to beautiful shores, perfect for swimming, kayaking, and beachcombing. Just inland, the charming Wagon Hill Farm provides wooded campsites with access to peaceful walking trails and birdwatching. Further north, the White Mountain National Forest offers mountainous campsites with hiking, fishing, and stargazing opportunities. Portsmouth’s location provides convenient access to both coastal and woodland camping, ideal for nature lovers.

Barnes Field Campground is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District, White Mountain National Forest (1 hr 38 min west of Lewiston, ME) with an elevation of 1,286 feet. There are a total of 11 campsites including 4 tent-only sites. The campground is open all year. 7 sites can accommodate RVs and trailers up to 40 feet. All sites are currently reservable. Reservations can be booked up to 6 months in advance. Prices start at $45.00 per night. Activities include hiking trails.
