The site is large and provided 5 pads to set up large tents as well as plently of room to set up smaller tents and hammocks. One draw back was that there were only 2 picnic tables at the camping site.
Group campsite C has a large fire pit. The fire pit does need cleaning and the rocks around the fire pit need to be reset. There is also an amazing grilling area separate from the firepit which we loved.
Access to the lake area is about 1 mile down the road with plently of free parking. The route is easy to walk but driving and parking was helpful for children, coolers, chairs and beach stuff.
A pit toilet is located right near the site which was clean and flush toilets with showers are just down the road easily walkable.
Everyone had a great week!!
Floating down the Uwharrie River is a blast. You can put in at the Coggins Mine location and float down to the 109 takeout for a nice 7 mile trip. Great way to spend 4 hours.
