Great campground, paved sites, lots of water spigots, potable water at dump station too. Large fire rings, poles for hanging lamps at night. Our experience was a quiet campground. Situated near the lake for boating, fishing, or swimming. We were in a good location to reach sites where we planned for gold. A wonderful visit. We heard but did not see big foot. Some others in camp also heard him. Frightening experience.

Very pretty campground and most campsites were shaded under the large canopy of trees. Although the campground is electric only, they made it very easy to dump and fill up potable water if needed. The dump station and potable water fill up station were separate and very clean. Because of the natural landscape most of the sites are not level, so bring some leveling equipment if you are in an RV. There was so much to do in Uwharrie National Forest such as walking and hiking trails, off road/ATV trails, mountain bike trails, horse trails, as well as kayaking, boating, or fishing on Badin Lake. We visited the Welcome Center in Troy and they were very helpful with giving recommendations on hikes in the Uwharrie Forest to see waterfalls as well as good places to eat in town.

There was no camp host for the upper loop. The host on the lower loop would have nothing to do with the upper loop. Unlicensed motorcycles and four wheelers were riding around the campground day and night. Somehow the bath house stayed cleaned and stocked with paper. Wasn't the campground we've grown accustomed to. Some liquid hand soap dispensers at the sinks would be a great addition.

They were working on the potholes so maybe they are gone by now. Campground was good, as always.

Restrooms were disgusting. Camp hosts were friendly but did nothing to enforce quiet hours. Campers in adjacent site stayed up until 2am talking loud and were obviously intoxicated. The boat launch near the campground is a joke, just a single ramp with a dilapidated pier. Probably a good campground if you are in an RV so that you can't hear the other campers partying all night long and you don't have to use the filthy restrooms. I will never tent camp here again.

Nice wooded area. Quiet and relaxing, mostly. Deep in Uhwarrie, driveabley close to day use areas. Campground is paved, roads leading to It are not. don't recommend for anyone not able to maneuver in tight spaces.

Quiet campground, although of course we there in late December. We own a tall truck camper 12ft 6 in., it was nice to see low branches were already removed. Level site semi - private. Would certainly return. Directions were hard to find on web site. Also to book a site was quite difficult, not the most user friendly web site, much easier on KOA sites, anyhow beautiful park. Thanks to staff.Bill & Laura from CT 12/3/22

We had a pull-through site which was wonderful but it wasn't level and by the time we leveled our RV, We were about 2.5 FEET off from the first step. We used leveling blocks to provide us with an extra step but it still wasn't high enough. We drove to Walmart and purchased a 1.5 foot step stool to help. Other than that, it was a great time. We didn't use the restrooms or showers but I visited them to get some photos and video for our youtube and instagram accounts - they were clean and looked to be in great shape.

Beautiful campground with nice spacing between our site & others! Enjoyed the paved path both walking & biking. Would give it five stars if each site had water!

Bathrooms and shower area need some much needed help. I wouldn't use them both I did check them out and they were horrible. When we arrived the sewer wasn't turned off so we couldn't dump before starting to camp. That was bad and there wasn't any water. We had to use some hoses to get water from the spigots with a few hoses. Our site which was #12 wasnt the best it had a major slope to it and we got a heavy heavy rain. We were okay tho. But other then these few issues it was a quiet and off the road place to camp. Sites all seemed to be spacious. Would consider camping there again in the future.

The facilities are very nice overall. It was a great place to camp. We would have rated the campground much higher than just good but getting water for the camper was quite difficult as was draining and cleaning out our gray and black water tanks. All of the fresh water at the dump station was shut off for winter despite very nice temperatures during our camp visit. Water is not available at every site so we had to improvise and fill our fresh water tank in an awkward manner from water outlets not designed for that purpose. With 2 full time hosts, it makes sense that the dump station water and fresh water filling station can be placed into service based on current temperatures and weather conditions rather than on what appeared to be a set schedule. Otherwise this was a great place to camp and we'll return I am sure but better prepared if during colder months. Early March weather simply did not warrant having these crucial facilities shut down!!

Campground was very nice! We were aware that we would need to use the dump station upon leaving, but wasn't aware of there being no water hookup at the campsites, so we had to drive back around to fill our fresh water tank. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay, and we were able to scope out our next site selection!

We have camped here several times and really enjoy it. We have done tent camping and rv. There are many trails that was easy to hop on for hiking and a paved one around the campground. A
Boat access is within walking distance. Negatives are no direct water for an rv but there is water at the entrance. The wash house is always kind of yuck and lots of bug in it. There is no soap provided for washing your hands after using the bathroom. Overall always a good experience and will happily return.

There needs to be some fine tuning of the 2 vehicle per site rule, I should be able to have visitors or visit friends in the campground without being harassed by the camp host or fear of being evicted

Very nice campground, clean facilities, great walking trails, very private. Some sites are on the small side and back right up to the fire pit if you have a large trailer.

Need the water to be turned on at the dump station or somewhere close to be able to fill your tanks in the winter......
