Excellent experience except for the smell of the bathroom when the wind was blowing our way. Next time we will pick a site away from the bathroom.

Great Campsite! Booking online was easy, site and grounds were very clean. And the staff that I met (cleaner and road work crew) were all super friendly and informative. There are some great roads to motorcycle on whether it be on tar or dual sport. I didn't get to hike much around the campsite but will definitely be back for more of that. It was a nice drive over to Mt. Mitchell for my high point hike and was nice to be far enough away from the bigger sites. Even though the campground was full on the weekend everyone was respectful of noise and it was pleasant. And all but me and 2 others cleared out on Sunday so Monday was almost completely empty. We are newbies to RV camping; this is one of only 5 campgrounds we have stayed at. This was NOT a fun experience. We arrived after dark and the road in from the south was harrowing….terrible ruts and potholes that made me worry about bottoming out the generator of my camper van. I cannot imagine how larger vehicles got in. The site itself was flat and required no leveling, and it was quiet at night. I did not brave the pit toilets but my 10 year of son said, “That was the second worst pooping experience of my entire life” and said it was filthy inside. Knowing the road from the South was awful, we headed north toward the Blue Ridge Parkway. That wasn’t nearly as potholed or rutted as the south, but the grades were steep, the dirt road was muddy, and it was harrowing.

My weekend in Curtis Creek campground was full of excitement and we had clear skies for 95% of the trip! Would go back again

Quiet campground, with a creek running along side it. The bathrooms are clean, and the camp hosts were really nice! Definitely no cell signal out there, but you don’t miss it. The road leading up to it is a dirt road so there are some bumps along the way, and one lane bridges, just as something to keep in mind. I definitely recommend this campground, and will stay again!

This is a great little campsite close to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campsites vary depending on which one you choose. At the top, there is a large open field that have tent pads spaced out. In the middle, there’s a loop with campsites that would cater for RVs also. At the bottom along the river are tent pads that would only suit tents. There are toilets but no showers. Fresh water is available too. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. The weekend we stayed there wasn’t a campground host but I’m guessing that was maybe due to it being after Labor Day weekend. There are a number of trails in the area also but we didn’t have time to check them out. If you continue on the road on up past the campground, it’ll take you to the blue ridge parkway. The sky is beautiful on a clear night and noise of the running river nearby makes this an enjoyable place to stay.
