Very nice rustic campground of the sort the Forest Service has done so well with over the years and now seems intent on replacing with overdeveloped overpriced campgrounds. Keep it this way. Carry down access to the water for kayaks and access to the Neusiok Trail are great reasons for going here.

The host, Tonya was extremely kind and welcoming. The whole campground, our campsite and the bathroom were very clean and quiet. It has beautiful walking trails and areas to see the water. There were very little bugs, if any. I believe this is the best time of year to go!

Very nice campground. Very nice host. We enjoyed Oyster Point very much. Our site was number 1, and it has a beautiful view of the river and easy access to the trail for kayak launching. There is no electricity on the sites and water must be hauled from remote faucets but we enjoyed the primitive location. We camped twice in January and February of 2023 and enjoyed it very much.

Arrived at 3 pm. Needed assistance from the camp host. Was informed from his wife that he was taking a nap. She was pretty negative and nasty in her responsibility. I was booked to stay for a week, but only stayed 2 nights.

It was clean and the camping spots were spaced apart so that you never really knew anyone else was there. We loved it.

We really enjoyed our camping trip here! The camp sites are really large, clean and level. The camp host was very welcoming and informative. There is no fire wood to purchase but you can get a lot from downed trees all around. There are a couple of spigots for water and 2 vault bathrooms that were clean and really not bad for what they are (not smelly at all). We were in site 1. We took our kayaks and could walk our kayaks to the water easily and there was easy access to put in/get in. We don’t mind boondocking in the spring and fall and this was a great place to do it!! There is lots of shade from pine trees but NC summers can still be too hot and humid for me. Lots of gnats and little biting no-see-ums. BRING BUG SPRAY!

Oyster Point campground is located in a lovely area, but alas the approach pot holes have turned to craters due to no road maintenance for years, making it lethal for RVs; that aside, we loved the site privacy but did not appreciate the toilet paper and trash left behind by previous campers.
