Lovely quiet campground
Camp Hostess Tonya (I believe) was very welcoming & gave good advice about sights to see in the area

We loved camping out at the camp ground and it served as a great base to explore Beaufort and the surrounding communities. We brought kayaks but unfortunately the wind created too much chop on the water to go out. We plan on going back to explore (and kayak) when there is less wind!

Wonderful experience. The campground host - Tanya - was very engaging , helpful, and friendly. I can see a lot of landscaping has recently been done to enhance the riverside experience. Bathrooms are in tip top shape as are the campsites. Easy to get to. I highly recommend camping here. I used this as a base for hiking the Neusiok / Mountains to Sea Trails. Also close to Newport with its Shortway Brewery, Food Lion, and gas stations.

We've camped several times at Oyster Point and is always pleasant time - quiet and woodsy with nice views on Newport River. On our most recent trip in November 2022, it looks like a lot of the trees around the campsites had been thinned. The site was a little less private than before, we could see campers in adjacent sites. However, it opened up the view at night and there was a nearly full moon, so the open view was a bonus.

Hiking trails not clearly marked or overgrown.

I have never seen a campground with so many biting insects. Big bugs, medium sized bugs, small bugs...they all wanted to eat. No amount of bug spray, or citronella candles, deterred those demon bugs! The campground hosts were very nice.

Very nice campground, remote and yet close to beach

We had a very quiet and enjoyable stay at Oyster Point. We would have given it 5 stars, but it is in need of some TLC. The road in was very bumpy and littered with trash. Thankfully, equipment arrived while we were there and it looks like they are going to grade it. There is a lack of signage and what is there is very hard to read. Both the picnic tables and fire rings are showing their age and need to be replaced. We would still go back, but with a little work this could be an outstanding facility

Campground is nice, close to the river, if not really walking or driving to anywhere else; a nice place to go be decently remote while still car-camping. Pit/chemical toilets but clean enough. I didn't see running water, I'd bring my own anyway. Campsites are large, kept up, camp host was nice. I went in February, I bet later in the year this is probably very buggy. Overall, exactly what I expected.
