Scott, the camp host, was terrific! Lake Santeetlah and the beach were wonderful. Very relaxing.

This campground was expensive for what it offered. I reserved Campsite 1 and the path from one of the parking spots went straight into a wet ditch. You couldn’t park right next to the campsite so you had to carry your gear in and out. I ended up just sleeping in my SUV and leaving in the morning. There was only one shower and I’m not even sure it had hot water. I couldn’t find anywhere to fill up my water jug either. Word of advice; North Carolina campgrounds are far superior.

Beautiful campground, right next to Joyce Kilmer trail. (I would drive to the TH—it is close but can be dangerous walking.) There are spigots for drinking water and the bathhouses are clean. Sites 2, 3, and 4 are on the river; site 1 is not but you can still hear it and walk to it. Two things I would have done differently: download hiking maps before going—absolutely no cell service. Pack your own beer/wine—the ingles in robbinsville is convenient for grabbing camp food on the way in but it’s a dry county! Overall a wonderful trip—definitely will return!

Bathrooms are in dire need of painting. The shower is totally unacceptable... gross. After the crew cleaned, they left a little tiny amount of soap at the sink, we are in a pandemic!! The days before the crew there was no soap, I waited till they cleaned the bathroom, so they just put not even an inch of soap in a small store bought container.

This spot is one of our favorites in the Smoky Mountains. The campground hosts were also incredibly friendly and welcoming.

My friends and I had a great time here! GPS location was accurate, plenty big for my group of 8, and bathrooms were functioning. The loss of one star was for the lack of response from recreation.gov/the ranger station when trying multiple times to contact and it is listed at riverfront, when you have to walk a little ways down there. Other than that— we had a great time and would love to be back.

My 5th grade class and I camp here each year. There is plenty of room for game playing in the field, a volley ball court with sand, clean but small restroom with one shower, and very close to the Joyce Kilmer Forest for a great hike.
