The site had everything I needed and faced a large open field. Directions were clear, access to the trialhead was perfect, and all the costs were extremely fair. Couldn't be happier with this campground.

It is a great campsite. I wish I could have stayed longer!

No cell service at all. Be sure you know where you are going once you hit the gravel road. Theres a u turn in it that could be confusing. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Hosts were friendly and made sure everyone knew to keep campsites clean to avoid bear issues. Theres a river thats perfect for kids wading and a larger swimming hole too.

Great campground. Nice people running the place. Fantastic location at the base of Mt Mitchell. Warm showers. Quiet and peaceful. Nothing to complain about.

Campground Host Bob helped out tremendously when we arrived and the other host and his wife were friendly and helpful as well. The bathrooms were well-maintained, the camping pad was neat and even, the open field was great for our kids, and the overall stay was most pleasant since it is a limited electricity campground. It was wonderful to see campfires instead of neon lights and large-screen TVs.

The hike up to Mount Mitchell is long and hard! It took us an entire day but it was so enjoyable. It was the reason we came to the camp, and definitely worth it.

Wonderful hosts! This place abounds with friendly people. There are lots of trails (easy to difficult). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
