Clean, quiet, informative staff on site 24/7. Ice and firewood available. Classes with skilled people are offered and some trail guides will pull campers for specific hikes. Fly fishing was fun as was a hike to the rapids. Beware the bears. I had 1 visitation in 8 days on my vehicle. Keep all food in containers stored in the vehicle. Do not Crack the windows. If you have a hitch basket, place a cover over any equipment due to the potential for wildlife to chew on coolers, etc. Yeti will not keep them out of it, despite their claims. Respect nature because we are in its habitat. It is not evil. It is only instinct and survival.

We had a wonderful time! Diane and some of the other hosts were very nice! The only complaint we have is that the hosts were told to let all of the groups from Briar Bottom Group Camp to come down to the campground and take showers because they dont have showers at the group camp. They would bring truck loads of people down to the campground for them to take showers all at one time and we couldnt get into the shower when we needed to. Could you please have them build a shower house for the group camp? We have camped at Black Mtn Campground for over 40 years with family and friends and that is the only complaint that we have ever expressed to the forest service.

Enjoyed staying there. However the signage to get there was horrible and the roads were so busted up we were only able to drive 10 mph. The hosts were pleasant and helpful and the bathhouse was very clean.

Our new favorite campground right in our “back yard.” The city address is the same as ours but this place was nearly 45 minutes away from our house.
We had a fantastic experience. This is a small, quiet, clean, full of actual nature campground. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The camp sites are well spaced. The bathrooms were cleaned daily.
There is plenty of hiking and exploring options.
Then at night all we heard was the water rushing down the river, the crackling camp fire and the insects trilling in the background. It was lovely!
Our campsite seemed very large and there was plenty of privacy. We look forward to coming back!

Fantastic campground. Bathrooms and showers were always neat and clean.

This campground is great whether you are a family, a couple, or a group looking for a hiking base camp. The bathrooms are well maintained and clean. Open areas available for playing, frizbee, etc. Sites are flat and roomy, and generally they are not too close together. The location is gorgeous. We had a great experience camping here, and we plan to visit again.
